I grew up in a small village in Sweden with a Swedish mum, a Greek dad and my brother. As a child we traveled to Greece almost every summer, which wasn’t just a travel from Scandinavia to the Mediterranean. It was also a travel from empty forests, lakes and animals to the city centre of a capital city with tall buildings, heavy traffic, restaurants and music. Growing up, these extremes shaped my personality in many ways and I can today see traces of it in my work; I am drawn to combine contrasts. I find happiness and sadness hard do separate, as well as dreams and reality, strength and weakness, chaos and order, closeness or distance, present and past. My work often evolves around bringing these contrasts together and trying to make the difference almost unnoticeable.
